The New Year is upon us — what are you praying for?
We all have personal intentions, but this is my list of some of the more pressing issues facing the world through 2025.
PEACE

Recently, it felt like the world was winding up to WWIII with war in the Ukraine v. Russia; the overthrow of Assad in Syria; Israel fighting terrorists on all sides with HAMAS in Gaza; HEZBOLLAH in Jordan; HOUTHI in Yemen and behind everything, the Islamic regime in Iran. Then they must also fight the media who supporting the people using women & children as shields, kneecap those taking food from humanitarian aid trucks [see the clip] and abuse/rape the hostages being held captive.
We may have yet more international strife as China is still threatening to re-assimilate Taiwan.
PRO-LIFE
There are attacks on LIFE at all ages, especially on the young and old.
The most pressing issue is to “KILL THE BILL” — to stop Leadbeater’s Assisted Suicide Bill in the UK and the similar legislation in Ireland, Scotland, etc.
Abortion is increasing — in Ireland in 2023 there were over 10,000 abortions. [That is about 2/3 the incidence of abortion in America where, ~1 million babies were aborted in 2023. To Hell with the concept that abortion is “rare” in Ireland.]
IMMIGRATION
Mass uncontrolled immigration is a nightmare for the security and welfare of any receiving country — look at the increase in violence in America and the rape/sexual crimes in Britain & Sweden alone.
Yes, we must help real refugees, but encouraging the influx of non-refugee, undocumented young male migrants is another matter. Why does the West pay people to come and then provide board and lodging when so many are clearly not refugees and hate our values — especially Christian values?
SOCIETAL
There are insidious pressures on the younger generations, especially through (Anti-)Social Media. They are fed a diet of paranoia about Climate Change and infectious illnesses (COVID/Avian Influenza) while being brain-washed into thinking they have gender issues and then pushed into early sexual activity, as warped people like Jeffrey Marsh encourage them to go “No Contact” with their parents and takes advantage of the vulnerable into contacting him directly.
In North America, many will soon be going ‘off their rocker’ with Trump Derangement Syndrome! Despite all his “huff & puff,” I pray that Trump acts moderately and helps to bring peace back to the world.
Further afield, the globalization of the world is being used to empower the rich while there are devastating problems such as the complete repression of women in Afghanistan.
CHURCH
I pray that good Catholics resist the attacks against the Church, both from without and within.
Pope Francis seems to mean well, but has alienated many Trad Catholics while courting liberal causes in a haphazard fashion. (All the while priests like RUPNIK go without proper Ecclesiastical trial.)
The 4-year effort on Synodality ended with an unintelligible final document — at least to simple people like me! I pray for clarity (and patience!) with such changes.
INTOLERANT TO INTOLERANCE!
I pray that good Catholics stand up and protect the Church in a measured, appropriate way.
We must be welcoming to peaceful neighbours of other faiths, but also we must firmly resist changes which will lead to abuse — such as Sharia Law.
I pray that Catholics become proud of our faith again, and evangelize the world!
