Indigenous Canadian Catholic Church Torched to the Ground

After last year’s Spanish Civil War like persecution of Catholics, with 100 Catholic churches torched by terrorists, Pope Francis's recent visit renewed hopes of reconciliation between the church, Canadian secular society and First Nations.

Now, an arsonist has attacked Blessed Virgin Roman Catholic Church in Fort Chipewyan, a traditionally indigenous church for Canada's First Nations.

Built over 100 years ago, locals are now heartbroken after the senseless act of terrorism that razed their beloved church to the ground.

Hopefully this is not the beginning of another wave of anti-Catholic terror in the country, which is still reeling from persecution last year.

Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation Chief Allan Adam livestreamed the entire tragic event on Facebook.
