Latin Mass Mothers Arrive in Rome from Paris

On March 6th, 45 people started the 1,000 kilometer walk from Paris to Rome to ask Pope Francis to reconsider the restrictions that were imposed on the Latin Mass in last year’s wildly unpopular Motu Proprio Traditiones Custodes. Among them were the mothers of a numbers of those priests affected by the universally criticised restrictions.

Just in time for the beginning of May, the month of Our Lady, the brave mothers have finally arrived into Rome after a gruelling journey.

In images posted on social media today, they can be seen praying and singing as they arrived in the Eternal City.

Their plan is to deliver letters to the pope to ask him to reconsider the nature of these oppositions, particularly of importance to France where the majority of ordinations to the priesthood will be to Traditionalist priests by 2030.

It was their intention to bypass the many Anglo American commentators who gloated at the imposition of the restrictions and instead to convey the human element of the story, showing that the Latin Mass is a means of sincere faith for many families and individuals.
