Flatley talks God on Late Late

Michael Flatley appeared on Irish television recently and delighted viewers with his optimism, positivity, and unashamed love for God.

While he ostensibly appeared to promote his debut film Blackbird which he directed and is also the lead role, he mainly spoke about the importance of family, never giving up, all while referencing God throughout the interview:

"we're blessed"…

“God called for (Mom)"…

"Thank you God for everything we have, and also for my parents and the people who have gone before me"…

What was striking for an interview on the national broadcaster, besides the frequent references to God of course, was the complete lack of negativity or complaining. He made a beautiful call for Ireland’s youth never to give up on their dreams: “They're afraid of what others might think...you can't let that stop you. Work hard, stand up, throw your best shot... God wouldn't give you a dream or desire to do something if he wasn't going to give you the opportunity to achieve success."

The multiple award winning Riverdance star also blessed himself in memory of his mother, and ingeniously wore a crucifix ear piercing which was only visible during a segment where he played a lovely tune on the flute.

Blackbird is currently playing in cinemas throughout Ireland.
