It was reported on 𝕏 today that Pope Francis has “flu-like” symptoms and had gone by private vehicle for some tests.
The Holy Father is 87 year old and is quite remarkable in his abilities.
Unfortunately he has medical conditions which put him at risk. In particular, he had one lung removed so any respiratory tract infection can quickly become significantly more serious.
He is wheel-chair bound due to arthritis — except for short distances — and that inactivity has caused him to gain weight. Part of his bowel was removed due to diverticulosis (Reuters)
Every Catholic should be aware that, though the Holy Father is tough, every time he gets sick could be his last.
