Québec, Canada: Euthanasia Capital of the World

This since 2016 — only 7 years since legalisation

Québec reported 5211 euthanasia deaths in the year, April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.

This is a 42% increase in euthanasia deaths from 2022 and represents 6.8% of all deaths in the province: the highest in the world. 15% of those who died by euthanasia in Quebec were NOT terminally ill.

Sadly, Québec is not an exception in Canada: other provinces have had dramatic increases also.

The Québec statistics come from the Québec Commission on End-of-Life Care’s Eighth Annual Report. (In French.) According to their data, there have been a total of 15,997 reported euthanasia deaths under the legislation in the province, up till March 31, 2023.

The Ontario euthanasia data indicates that there have been 18,373 (MAiD) deaths since legalization in June 2016. (Specifically: 18,370 euthanasia deaths and 3 assisted suicide deaths.)

Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, Mann, & Jersey: be careful what you wish for — you too have zealots eager to catch-up to Canada.

Remember: YOU are the carbon they want to reduce.
