Latin Mass Billboards Appear in Rome

For the next two weeks, Synodality in all of its glory can be seen in Rome as the People of God express their dismay with recent restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass.

The billboards speak to the need for bishops to be allowed to determine what Masses take place in their dioceses, echoing the recent words of Pope Francis, who said yesterday:

If Rome started making the decisions, it would be a slap in the face to the Holy Spirit, who works in the particular churches

Popular Italian blog Messa in Latino is behind the billboards, they wrote:

wanted to make public the deep attachment to the traditional Mass just when it seems scheduled to disappear

They also stated, in a far cry from the German Synod, that they are motivated by their love for both the pope and the church:

for love of the Pope, so that he is paternally open to the understanding of those liturgical peripheries that for some months no longer feel welcome in the Church, because they find in the traditional liturgy the full and complete expression of the whole Catholic faith

They also point out, correctly, that every kind of lobby group seems to be permitted in accordance with the Synod while Traditionalists are persecuted:

In the Church of our day, where listening, acceptance and inclusion inspire every pastoral action, and we want to build ecclesial communion 'with the synodal method', this people of ordinary faithful, of young families, of fervent priests, has the confident hope that its voice will not be stifled, but welcomed, listened to and held in due consideration
