"I’m no better than this woman"

(Nala Ray)

The ambiguous title is taken from Samantha D’s post below from 𝕏 about a reformed — redeemed? — OnlyFans porn star: Nala Ray. Samantha’s point holds for everyone: none of us are better than Nala.

Samantha’s post joins those of many good women on 𝕏 like Natalie Beisner, Rogue Millennial and (atheist) Albany Rose who support Nala’s abandonment of her previous toxic life.

Nala

Nala was a prolific “content provider” on OnlyFans for ~4 years. Unlike most on the OnlyFans site who make chump change, she grossed about $9 million over the 4 years. That life almost cost Nala her soul.

Michael Knowles, The Daily Wire, released their (long) interview on 6th April: the link is below. I found the interview got more interesting and more personal (and perhaps more sincere?) around the 1-hour mark.

To see how Nala portrayed herself previously you can see her participation in the @whatever podcast below. This was less than a year ago.

Do I believe every word? Nope. (That might be my cynicism.) Nala is highly intelligent and has learnt to “cos-play” not just in clothes, but in the personalities people want, or need.

Could Nala have a personality disorder? Sure — so might all of us!

The changes in her life are indeed dramatic. She was re-baptized in an evangelical church; she deleted her OnlyFans site; she sold many of her possessions and now dresses modestly. She just got married to a supportive Christian man who played a pivotal role in this change.

I had thought of summarizing what she says in the interview, but it is best for people hear it directly.

Joshua’s story

Joshua Broome was also a prolific Porn Star. Like many porn stars who get to despair, he was about to kill himself when a simple question from Hope — now his wife — turned his life around. He is now happily married with 3 beautiful kids and the Pastor at the Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Michael Knowles interviewed him in 2023. A link to the Catholic Arena article (which has a link to the video of the interview) is below.

The Message

What is clear is that being Christian we must give folk like Nala and Joshua the benefit of the doubt and welcome them “back into the fold.” Such conversions should give the rest of us hope that we too can be saved from our sins.

Please pray that Nala is for real and that Christ brings healing to her life; healing to her family and to all those she damaged by presenting herself as an object of lust.

Christians should remember that Saul persecuted the early followers of Christ…before becoming Paul, the Saint! Also, as a young person, Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone was “spoiled, indulging himself with fine food, wine, and wild celebrations. By age 14, he had left school and become known as a rebellious teenager who frequently drank, partied and broke the city curfew.” That dissolute person became St. Francis of Assisi.

We are all saved if we accept Christ into our lives.
