Joshua Broome is happily married to Hope and they have 3 beautiful kids. He is the Pastor at the Good News Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
In his former life, Joshua was a prolific Porn Star — he was about to kill himself when the questions above, changed his life.
Joshua was in the porn business for ~6 soul-destroying years, making over 1000 films. Many in the industry turn to drugs, or end up killing themselves. While finalizing his affairs before planning his own suicide, a bank-teller observed his distress and asked him: “Excuse me Joshua, are you okay? Joshua, can I do something for you?”
This registered deeply with Joshua because it was the first time in over a year that anyone had called him by his real name! That simple act of kindness changed his life.

The interview is 2 hours long, but is very engaging. Frat-Boy Michael Knowles (sorry, Michael!) did an excellent job of structuring and pacing the questions; Michael and Joshua have a good rapport and Joshua is frank about his life in the porn industry. They explore the many personal and societal injuries caused by porn, whether as someone directly in the industry or as a “consumer.” I encourage everyone to listen the whole way through.
