This past week saw the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
It was a sombre occasion, though marked respectfully through various events and recollections of the victims.
Unfortunately for Archbishop of Canterbury Sarah Mullally, the date saw her associated with an apologist for the last person one would want to be associated with from that date. Yes, Osama Bin Laden.
The interfaith award was given to Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi for his work in Pakistan, though it has no transpired that he made comments that were interpreted as praising Osama Bin Laden.
The award has now been rescinded, but the damage is done. There are even growing calls for her to resign as a result.
